Language Cycles Application
Science is all about abstraction and generalization. We believe that cognitive neuroscientists and linguists should strive to uncover brain processes that are general across humans. Likewise, we believe that linguists should aim to establish descriptive notions that hold across languages.
To find out whether language comprehension is affected by the brain’s time windows, we first want to see how comprehension actually proceeds over time. To cover as many languages as possible, we have built two simple behavioral experiments into a smartphone application. All you need to do to help us: Listen to a short excerpt from the all-time classic The Little Prince in your own language and occasionally push a button…
We are looking for native speakers of the following languages:
Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
